Big Apple Dancesport Challenge @ Columbia 2008, NYC

Congratulations to everyone who went to the competition at Columbia on December 7th. Highlights included the ridiculously fabulous show by Hanna & Slavik, and Arunas & Katusha, bubble tea, and the convenience of being in NYC. Thanks to the Columbia team for housing and running a nice comp in a comfortable venue.

OSB team videos

Sam posted PLBD team videos from syllabus, team match and one of the fun dances from the collegiate part of the Ohio Star Ball competition. I appreciate that the video comes out like a super "skinny" mirror.

DCDI 2008

I hope everyone who went to DCDI had a fun time regardless of where you placed and how much sleep you got. Many thanks go out to Ballroom at Maryland (BAM) who hosted DC Dance Inferno 2008 and housed most of us, as well as had great organization for the gigantico sized heats (~120ish for bronze, 6 heats for first round). Special congratulations go out to Linda and Nga for winning this year's same sex sort of rumba.

Smallish batch of photos here.

Youtube video search for DCDI 2008 here. I highly approve of their use of an acronym to ID their comp as it makes searches quite specific.

Results and scoresheets posted here on 11/4/08.

The event photographer's photos will eventually show up here.

NYU syllabus competition 2008

Congratulations to everyone who went to the NYU syllabus competition. It was a nice warm up competition for the newcomers and hopefully everyone had a lot of fun. NYU did a great job of running this comp for the first time- yay to Joel, all of the competition committee and Meaghan, the best deck captain ever. (I am so sorry that we have problems lining up in numerical order.)
